This bell signaled the start of the actual walk at the Fare Heroes Walk, however the activities started well before the first ring.

FARE Food Allergy Heroes

SUPER HEROES weren’t flying but they sure were flocking around the beautiful grounds of the Maryland Agricultural Center on September 9, 2017.

Maryland Agricultural Center

This was the first year that the walk was held in this venue and it was BEAUTIFUL!

We had a gorgeous sunny day while strolling along a tree lined path and through the tall cornfields.

Both before and during the walk, excited children, parents, grandparents and friends had the chance to “Connect. Unite. Inspire”.  Hundreds of people united behind their friends and family members living with food allergies as well as FARE’s mission by raising money to help with FARE’s research, education, and advocacy efforts.

There were many allergy friendly vendors on site that distributed samples of their products as well as a petting zoo, game truck and DJ to keep the party going!

REASONS FOR WALKING

Participants pinned up notes explaining WHY I WALK or WHY WE WALK for food allergies.

AUCTION

We had a silent auction with awesome packages including restaurants, services, products and experiences!

PROGRAM

During the program, the top individual and team fundraisers were acknowledged along with the Walk Committee, of which I am a member, and  many other groups and individuals.

It proved to be a fun and worthwhile experience.  I reconnected with friends and met others throughout the day.

If you are in the Baltimore area next fall, plan to come out and join the festivities!
